darefire I’m relieved to hear an album tagged “Dark Folk” that doesn’t sound like just mournful noodling on acoustic guitars. There is a good sense of songwriting here, and a lot of variety for songs that have all acoustic instrumentation and are darker in sound. The production quality is a good balance of clear and lo-fi, reverb washed charm. My only complaint is that I wish he would have used more percussion; it helped it stand out from other dark folk albums. All in all, a good dark folk albu

The first album "The Wooden Wheel: Winter's Promise" features songs that were written during or inspired by recent winters, and also seemed an appropriate place to start given this project name. These songs (along with any of the next 3 Wooden Wheel albums) only feature acoustic instruments and the human voice.
